I am interested in the Xone92, Nuo5, and the 909
What makes which mixer better or more appealing in your eyes.
I am having such a hard time deciding which one to get.

Please list the pro's and con's of why you would/would not go with any one of these mixers.

Thanks in advance for your replies,
DJ MDX

I think the 92 is best, but the nuo5 is the best "bang for the buck". As for the other one, i wouldnt even consider a 2 channel mixer.

As the poll says xone92 all the way....

I would not hessitate much on the Xone 92. I have heard only rave reviews about the mixer and its quality of sound and all.

Hey MDX,

Only a limited few are going to be able to offer hands on advice with the Nuo 5 since they are just now becoming available.

The 92 is hands down the best house mixer compaired to the 909. However, on the flip the 909 is an effects loaded bad ass of a "scratch mixer". Two completely different application. Although you know I do use a 909 for house sets all the time and love it. Back to the 92, nothing can touch it's sonic quality.

From advanced impressions the Nuo 5 sound like it will fall somewhere in the middle of the above. It should offer great sound quality, 4 channels, multilple/ adjustable effects, and an industry recognized cross-fader. The best of both worlds really. Think of it like a 1500 on steroids!

Personally, If I were you MDX I would wait until you can check out the Nuo 5 before you make a decision.

Cheers,

j.

I'm sure, the Nuo is a bad ass mixer, but the Xone is still putting a smile on my face several months after "the new toy effect" wore off. There's just something about it...

As justin said tho it kind of depends on the application. If you primarily want a scratch mixer the Xone will serve that purpose but the linear faders and X-fader adjustment may be too close to the X-fader for a pure scratch Dj's liking.

And in all reality, while I plan on buying a TCE Fireworx, i don't mind not having effects right now. It lets me purely mix and try to be creative w/o effects, which is good. With My X1500 and DJM 600 I had a bad habit of being a bit effects happy.

Hey MDX,

I don't know if this will help make up your mind but I just confirmed that Pioneer is offering a $200 rebate on EVERY mixer in there line until the end of the year! : :-)

LOL @ the steroid analogy...

I agree I am going to wait to check out the Nuo5....but I think it will be between the Xone92 and the Nuo5...right now more towards the Xone92...I play all music styles but my main goal is for mixing...I am not a heavy scratch dj. For the venues I do it is not a big money maker....fun as hell yes...but let's face it I need to make some return on my investment... ;-)

Hey,

I just have to say I've been blessed with the opportunity to play on a 92 Rotary and it's definately getting my vote. It's like I'm a wandering soul who has finally found his home!

Cheers~ ;-)

I picked the Nuo, It would suit my style better. The Xone is completely awesome, but IMHO is one of the butt uglies mixers on the market. If I was buying a club mixer based purely on sound quality, I would pick up a used UREI 1st, then a Rane MP2016 or MP-44, BTW I have 2 UREI's and a 2016 ;) lol.

It would be really hard for me to say, I'm not a fan of 2 channel boards but the Pio board has some great effects. But the entire USB thing on the Nuo has me wondering what could be done with it. Now with the Xone board, I know the quality of build and sound is damn near perfect and they are really smooth boards but lacks the "toy" effects that I still enjoy using. So I pick them all!
In all seriousness if the Pio came in a 4 channel version I would pick that first, as I have had very good luck with my Pio board so far and it seems to be solid.

I LOVE my 909 but I have to say, the Xone92 is one of the baddest mixers EVER. I've now had a chance for hands-on with the Nuo5 and I can honestly say there was almost NOTHING about that mixer I liked.

Not the cueing, not the permanent channel assignments to the xfader, not the effects. Bleh!

You should have gone with a Pyramid with 16 bit built in sampler. Much better as a door stop....lol

Nice, I think you should get one for everyone here. Actually for some reason, I am leaning towards the NUO as my next major purchase.
