Question for Pulse...

Do you think, in your opinion not speaking for Pioneer, that Pioneer would have intrest in building a 909/600 hybid with:

all the effects of the 909
option for rotaries
four channel (like the 600)
PFL's like the 600

Just a question...

Thanks

Sorry, not Pulse but.....

IMO I would say yes......just not sure about the rotaries....not because I dont like them but because I have not seen them move towards this route... :(

I would love to see a 909, X1500, Xone92, TTM56 combo unit..... 8)

Good Call MDX by bringing the Xone 92 into the blender I would definately get my rotaries....

But I thought the 600 had a rotary option too? :?

No rotary option on the DJM600. Only the DJM3000.

I think there's total interest in a 909 / 600 hybrid. C'mon, the 909 is a TANK with an awesome fx unit and the 600 is one of the DJ staples.

As I've said in other threads, I'm all over the Xone 92; it's one helluva mixer.

I mix smooth long blends but I don't like rotaries. Maybe cuz I've not had much more time than the DJM3000 rotaries (which are crap IMHO, because of the curve), but the linear faders are my pref.

As we all know, Pioneer is always working on "the next thing", so eventually the replacement for the 600 will come out. I'm sure it will kick some ass when it does. It has to otherwise nobody would buy it. :)

It might be wise to recommend a rotary option on the next mixer that they make on their product suggestion link on the Pioneerprodjforums.com forum. All it takes is a simple registration and a comment. The more comments they receive, the more influence we'll have.

Sometimes I prefer faders (for drum and bass definitely), but sometimes I prefer rotaries. When I mix progressive, I prefer a rotary. If I'm in a club, I often prefer a rotary. I feel it gives more control over the mix, especially compared to short body faders (45mm).

I'm still waiting on buying a rotary for home use though. I'm going to give it until October when I move. After that, a decision has to be made. I just sold my Xone 62 yesterday on denondjforums.com (at a killer price...somebody got a deal of a life time...) because I have a special treat coming in from A&H this coming week. A Xone 464...at a discounted price. With four turntables, 6 CD players currently, Ableton and a drum machine all setup, I needed more inputs and faders for the whole bit. I plan on making a new console to hold it all. I plan on having two setups...one rotary, one fader, all on the same console. Should be nice. Anyway, get working on those product suggestions for Pioneer. I'd go with an interchangeable rotary/fader model suggestion seeing as it's more likely that they'll come out with a product that is interchangeable than just rotary.

Damn Doc, wish I would have seen that post about you selling your Xone62. One of my buddies wants one, and is a couple hundred shy of the new unit price tag. Oh well.

Any chance you've read anything about ritchie hawtin's custom Xone92?

Hawtin uses a standard Xone 92. You must be thinking about his modified Xone 62...which was basically a standard Xone 62 with midi capabilities that kind of morphed into the Xone 92.

I put the rotary faders in the DJM 3000 and I hated them. They were nothing like I had expected and I like rotary. I was hoping for a rotary more like the MP 2016 but nope no go.

Same here... The DJM3000 Rotary's were so... Blah. I mean the Urie's, the Rane's are smooth, precise and just overall Phat! The knobs are big and bold as compared to the 3k's which are thin. I've never had the pleasure of owning a rotary, I've always used them in the clubs... The models I mentioned above (can't forget the holy grail... Bozak) are so bulky that I'd have to design a super deep case to house them and that would be a pain in the da ass to lug around. I'll just sit back and wait... Someone's listening and will put one out there for us.

I think the problem with the rotaries for the 3000 was they had a logrythmic curve instead of a nice linear fade. You could dial the thing to 7 and it would be like the fader was at 2. :(
